2. Shields Up!!
3. Run Microsoft Windows Update
4. (If you don't have a current virus checker) Download and install the free virus checker Avast!
   1. Uninstall your previous Virus Checker (I previously recommended Free AVG and AntiVir).
   2. Open web link http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
   3. Click the Download Now button to Download
5. Download and install Regcleaner.exe
   • you can usually find it here
   1. Run Tools->Registry Cleanup->Do them all
      • select all entries returned and click Remove Selected
   2. If you've tried to get rid of something (like KaZaa?) but can't:-
      1. This is dangerous don't get rid of anything unless you are sure
      2. Click Software
      3. Select the entries you want to remove
      4. Click (make sure you are confident) Remove Selected
